This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

This is the playback only version that is supplied with Keystroke called Executor. When loaded on the icon bar, Executor will execute special predefined keystrokes with Risc OS 3 Paint and the Filer. Simply click on Executor's List� line to load the list of sequences into Edit, etc. and look at the keypresses available. Here are a few of the functions supplied. Try the following: The Filer --------- Place the Pointer over any Filer window and press CTRL-A to select all or CTRL-Z to deselect all. CTRL-X will delete any selected files. These key presses are the standard 'De/Select, Delete' keys for most Archimedes programs, so why not the Filer! Place a disc in drive :0 and press Alt-Backspace, Executor will automatically mount the disc. Pressing Alt-� will dismount the disc. This allows fast examination of discs. Pressing CTRL-� or CTRL-� will scroll the Filer window up or down. Risc OS 3 Paint --------------- Quite a few functions have also been included in this demo for Risc OS 3 Paint. Here are just a few. Load any Sprite file into Paint, and with the pointer over the Sprite file, press F3. F3 is the standard key to save files in Archimedes programs, but Acorn left it out. We've added it! With the pointer over a main sprite picture pressing CTRL-H or CTRL-V will 'flip' it over horizontally or vertically. CTRL-T will pop up Paint's Toolbox. CTRL-C will pop up Paint's Colour window. CTRL-� will zoom in. CTRL-� will zoom out. ALT-Z will reset the zoom to a preset figure (in this case 20:20). ALT-SHIFT-Z will change the zoom to 20:3 (in this case). F1 will display the Sprite Info box on the sprite in question. CTRL-X will delete a sprite from a Sprite file pointed at. There are many more available; read the file 'List' provided. Autosaving has also been added to Paint! ---------------------------------------- To demonstrate the 'autosave function', load in any sprite file, enter a time value from Executor's Prefs�Autoexec�Minutes menu. Then click on 'Autoexec�' such that a tick appears next to it. Now when the time limit is reached Executor will simply perform a save menu selection from Paint and then enter a RETURN keypress, therefore saving it. Watch it happen (or at any time press CTRL-SHIFT-F3). Action Files ------------ While keypresses can be used to activate Executor, our program is much more flexible. By using Keystroke, the user can create simple applications which Keystroke (or Executor) can response to. We call these 'Action' files. A selection of example Action files is supplied in the 'Actions' directory. The two Action files !FlipHorz and !FlipVert will flip the topmost sprite displayed either in the X-axis or the Y-axis when double clicked upon. The Action file !Create will allow you to make your own sprite file quickly and easily. Simply open a Paint window, double-click on !Create and enter some values in the Executor input window which will appear in the centre of the screen. Instant trouble free sprite creation! !AutoSave allows a very quick way of saving the topmost sprite in Paint. When it is clicked upon, it will do the equivalent of CTRL-SHIFT-F3 followed by a RETURN key press. IF you do use the Pinboard, drag this icon to it and whenever you want to save the sprite, just click. No fuss, no bother! Imagine placing a number of these files on the Pinboard or in a Filer directory for quick and easy access to your application's functions.
