Help/AQRinit

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

AQRinit

This machine code program is used to
initialise AQR as a 256K ram disc,
using V1.1x or 1.2x of ADFS.

Its purpose is to format the RAM to
enable the ADFS to read it as it
would a normal disc.

To use the program directly, set LIB to
LIBRARY and type *AQRINIT <RETURN>.

The RAM is first initialised and then
set up as drive 0. The drive you were
using is renumbered from 0 to 4 or 1 to
5 and remounted.
