!Spricht is a program to make accessing the special accented
characters in German, French, Spanish and other languages easy. If you have
RISC OS 3, then this may seem a waste of time as these characters can
already be accessed using the !Chars application. It is not, however as it
is hard to see which letter you are trying to get, and the characters are
laid out in the order which they are stored in ROM, not in a hierchial
table.
!Spricht can also be easily programmed to show a set of user
characters, making access to any language which uses characters stored in
one of the sets in ROM easy.
The Menu Options
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Info - Gives info about !Spricht
German - Selects the German special character set
French - Selects the French special character set
Spanish - Selects the Spanish special character set
User - Selects the user special character set. See further on for how
to select which characters are in the user set
Save Data - Saves the user character set.
Quit - Quits
To bring up a character set click select on the � icon (on the icon bar).
Defining the User Set
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Select the menu and go to User. Go right over the arrow and a 'Set User
Characters' box will appear. Type in the characters (using Alt and the
code, the codes are in the Chars file inside the !Spricht Directory),
pressing Return after each one. The characters can be saved using the 'Save
Data' option from the menu.
The Greek Alphabet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To replace the special characters with Greek characters press F12 and
type *Alphabet Greek, or if you want to change the configured alphabet type
*Configure Alphabet Greek. To change back type *Alphabet Latin1/*Configure
Latin1.
NOTE : Changing the Alphabet to Greek will prevent the German, French and
