!Repton3/CODE

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

The apathetic willingness of todays youth culture to embrace
musical trends so spectacularly dull, uninspired and monotonic is
as sad as it is frustrating. Indeed it is alarming to witness the
utter lack of passion or emotion displayed by their icons, the
'artists' themselves. Given the important media time which they
receive, why do so many artists in the present industry choose to
say nothing? What a waste.

But these are Thatchers children, born of a false prosperity which
successfully bled them of anarchy. The Capitalist society rules
supreme, there are, and can be, no problems. After all, you own
your own home now (which is bigger and better than your neighbours)
therefore everything must be alright. Why complain? Chill out,
there's a rave on. Stuff the debate, let's dance.

No. This is unacceptable. Musicians, indeed artists of all ilks,
have a responsibility to observe and question. The music industry
at present has failed, having disappeared on a self-indulgent
tangent which is neither productive nor memorable, merely
profitable. The alternative, probing, attitude furnished by the
halcyon days of the late seventies and early eighties, when the
music industry galvanised popular disquiet, has been eroded and
subdued by an industry and media in fear of its power and
potential. It is time for change.

Music is something which should be emotional, passionate,
aggressive. Something which is precious. Something Sacred.

And now for something completely different.

Option 2

a) In what ways do humans communicate with each other? This question
can be taken to refer to both the range of 'cultural systems' suggested
in Block 1.

Humans communicate with each other in many different ways, sometimes
people communicate with others without realising they are doing so.
People talk to each other, to their family and friends. They talk over
the telephone, make conversation at work. Teachers communicate lessons
to childr
