h � ���7�� % yx � Some users are confused about the page size when printing. The page h
l ������ % yx � size in Impression is set quite independently of the paper size used in l
p �*%����� % yx � the printer. The printer driver should be set up to have the correct size p
l �75N������ % yx � of paper to match the paper which is being used in the printer. Usually l
h ��E��
D�� % yx � this is the same as the page size defined in Impression but in some h Ml G�U�� �� % yx � cases they may be different. The best example of this is an A5 docu- l
l �:e���-�� % yx � ment in Impression and printing this out on A4 paper as two A5 sheets l -4 R uZ��=��� % yx � side by side.

l �-���4�� % yx � By default Impression starts with an A4 page. For laser printers and l
h H�=����� % yx � inkjets this is the most commonly used paper size, so there is no h
l 0M������ % yx � problem. Fanfold A4 paper suitable for dot-matrix printers is available l
d ��]K��%~�� % yx � and becoming increasingly common. However the traditional dot- d
l �#m��5A�� % yx � matrix fanfold paper is generally shorter that A4, being only 11 inches l -, R6| }��E�� % yx � deep.

l 9=��]�� % yx � the print borders to be shown. Once selected, Impression draws a light l
l /4����m�� % yx � grey border around the edge of the page on screen to indicate the print l
p -�k��}��� % yx � margins. If any objects on the page extend into this grey area, they are p -< R���.���a�� % yx � unlikely to be printed.

l !7}��E �� % yx � Note the print borders can only be shown if the printer driver has been l
h ������U�� % yx � loaded. The print borders are shown on screen for pages printed h
h c��\��e��� % yx � upright at 100%. Therefore they do not indicate anything useful if h �p R3�� ��uR�� % yx � printing sideways or at a different scale.

l R�d��,�� % yx � correspond to the actual borders set up in the printer driver. This is l
l �At��<�� % yx � because Impression outputs its page centered between the margins and l
l �-�N�L�� % yx � hence the margins shown are the average size i.e. the top one shown is l -\ RN���\D� % yx � the size of the average of the top and bottom margins.
\ �� �(L���� % yx � The option � � Ignore page border � can be used to overcome this problem. �
l ��\|�$�� % yx � With this option set, pages are printed relative to the top left-hand l
h zl?�4r� % yx � corner of the paper. This is useful if your printer has markedly h �D Ro�|�D5� % yx � eccentric borders.
D �< R~��t��@1 �� � Laser printers

p b7�9�|l� % yx � Part of the laser printing process involves briefly exposing the paper to p
l - ��/� % yx � a high temperature. This causes the paper to wrinkle slightly. Because l
l 2 Կ��� % yx � of this, many manufacturers of laser printers say you should not print l
l ������ % yx � on both sides of the paper as this requires a second pass through the l �� R!��E�x� % yx � printer. (Technically, this is called i i f i double-sided printing i .e )
� Mp �'���t � % yx � We have used laser printers for double-sided printing, generally with Ho p
d ������� % yx � out problems. However, the paper does tends to jam or misfeed d
l ��s��� % yx � occasionally. Our advice is that double-sided printing is possible but l �� S
