This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Revelation is the first UK Acorn demo party, taking place as part of the
Acorn Southeast Show on Saturday 5th July, in Welwyn Garden City, Herts. The
idea is to get the UK demo scene moving, so we're talking demos and design,
with competitions for music, graphics and demos.
This is a chance not only to see the kind of computer graphics your Acorn
machine can produce, but it's also an opportunity to show off your coding,
music or graphical skills by entering one of the competitions.
The party will be a chance to meet the demo crews, talk coding and design,
and check out all the latest releases running on everything from A3010s to
StrongARM Risc PCs. The highlight of the party will be the competition,
with a category each for demos, protracker music and bitmap graphics.
Acorn are very keen to promote the demo scene and are offering not only the
chance of winning a brilliant prize worth 200+, but the opportunity to have
your [*] demo [*] put onto a CD and distributed to all the Acorn dealers
around the world to show off the latest StrongARM Risc PC!
Liquid Silicon have kindly donated a copy of MelIDI - The 32 bit MIDI
sequencer and Acorn User have donated a year's subscription of Acorn user
magazine to the winner of the music competition.
Spacetech have kindly donated a voucher worth 135 inc VAT, as part payment
towards their products, to the winner of the graphics competition.
There's something for everyone to get their teeth into!

We'd really like to hear your suggestions on this event. Its completely
non-profit making and its been organised purely to encourage the demos,
graphics and games scene on the Acorn, so we're relying on your interest to
make it a success. If you would like to enter one of the competitions,
please drop us an email or ring us. You don't have to be at the show to
enter any of the competitions.

RULES

Acorn Demo Competition
______________________
Can run on either :
SA RiscPC, 2megs VRAM
Pre RiscPC Archimedes (probably ARM3 based)
Must be StrongARM compatible. (Info on show web site above).
Must be previously unreleased
No interaction.
All screen modes used must be accompanied by mode definitions supplied with
the demo.
Demo must start with a simple double click from the desktop and must exit
cleanly to the desktop after running.
Max size - must come on no more than 4 HD disks.
Playing time - max 10 minutes.
No more than one entry per group/person.
In the case of disagreement, the adjudicator's decision is final.
All entries are available for use by Acorn for their CD compilation.
Music competition

Player can be either:
QTM v1.27 (identical to 4 track Protracker)
Digital Symphony 4 or 8 track
Must fit on one DD disk.
Playing time unlimited, but no more than 4 minutes will be played at the
competition.
Must be previously unreleased.
No more than one entry per person.
In the case of disagreement, the adjudicator's decision is final.
Bitmap Graphics competition
___________________________
Picture must be handrawn on computer. No scans, rips or traced rays allowed.
Max rez - 800 x 600, any colour depth.
Submit as Sprite or JPEG file.
Must be previously unreleased.
No more than one entry per person.
In the case of disagreement, the adjudicator's decision is final.
In all cases, the names of the group and/or person who's created the
submission should be clearly marked on the disks, as well as in a help file
on the submitted disks (that goes for all three competitions).
Please note that its not necessary to attend the party to enter the
competitions. If you want to enter, but can't make it along, simply contact
us and arrange to get your entry to us in advance of the deadline date (July
5th).
