I thought I would just tell you about myself as I am going to contribute some articles. As I told you in a previous letter I am 54 years old, had my Electron for 10 years. I have two sons one is 32 and lives in Sheffield the other lives here and is 31, he is a Football referee, runs a Youth team, is a qualified St John's Ambulance Brigade First Aider, is soon going on a Sports Physio course so besides work his time is like mine full and not enough hours in a day. I have my Electron and an Amiga 600 and just lately I have been doing some letters and my Homewatch leaflets (I am the Homewatch Co-ordinator for my half of the road, my road is like a letter C on its back) and combining terrific fonts and clip art on his PC computer's Word processor. I will never forsake my Electron but love to try out new things. I tend to do half a dozen things at once. I love my Cable TV, as I dont go out alot cannot afford it. So I have 2 VHS machines, I did have a Betamax, its not working at the moment. I now have 4 that dont work, 3 here and one at my son's in Sheffield. As they dont make or sell them any more, the parts are expensive, and its not worth having them repaired. But I am in the middle of transferring my Betamax tapes to VHS. I had over a 150 but am down to about 80 now. About 3 weeks ago my son from Sheffield brought his Betamax home and left it for a week with me so I spent at least 20 hours a day for 8 days transferring. I have alot because I am an ELVIS fan for 38 years, so I have all his films and many other things, then I like Clint Eastwood so I have most of his, then I just love Action Movies. Lots of Documentaries and Concerts. Besides all this I do Crosswords, read, knit, go on all 3 computers, play my music, and that is after the housework and garden is done. I am also a cat lover and have 2 right now, in all I have had 8 since about 1964. They usually die from old age, the first ran off because of a fire, the next 2 were very timid sisters and they ran off, the next didnt disappear till he was 10 but he was an undoctored tom and maybe he had his last fight. But sice then one was 13. My last, and I have to admit my best cat of all was nearly 21, he was disabled, had a balance problem some fault in his brain, he died nearly a year and a half ago of renal failure and myself and two sons were heartbroken, he was special, very loving and comical, because he couldnt walk properly or climb or jump, but he had a happy life. We miss him. The two I have now are 8 years old and 1 year 4 months old, both female and the young one comes home with wounds on her face and ears, she fights and she is rather wild compared to all the others, but she is also very affectionate. We have had our Homewatch Scheme over a year now and things do seem alot better, as when we started we had so many burglaries on this Council Estate. You were afraid to go out. I keep reminding them of all the safety things to do. The one I put out yesterday was about open windows because of the hot weather. I belive I told you before I love Board games, I guess because when my sons were younger we played alot and although we still have some they are never played. I have a version of Scrabble for the BBC but there are no graphics or colour, but its playable, I have many card games, some typed in. I have a Canasta game but its only numbers and letter not actual cards. Several Domino games and several Patience games. The trouble is when I go on them I am there for hours. I hope this has not been boring for you, when I write I tend to get carried away.
