Hawthorne, with additional coding and sprite
designs by Keith McAlpine of Gem Electronics.
The stand-alone games produced with ALPS may be
marketed and sold commercially provided that ALPS
is mentioned in the documentation and in the
loader screen of the game itself. No other part of
the software or the User Guides may be copied,
reproduced, hired, or rented, other than as
specified in this note.

If you bought your copy of ALPS direct from Alpine
Software your purchase will already have been
registered and you will be sent details of
upgrades and support products in due course. If
your copy of ALPS was purchased from a dealer
please ensure that you complete and return the
enclosed User Registration Card to:

Interactive Help
================
ALPS is a multi-tasking RISC OS application
and, as such, it provides interactive help via the
!Help application supplied on the "Applications
Disk 1". Alpine Software recommend that new ALPS
owners install and use this facility until they
become accustomed to the use of ALPS. To install
!Help double-click the !Help icon in the "App1"
directory viewer. Now insert your ALPS disk and
double-click the ALPS icon to install ALPS on the
icon bar. ALPS will now provide information about
its main windows and icons.

'Filer' Help
============
Many users may not be aware of the fact that the
Filer will provide extra help about an application
if that application contains a Text file called
!Help. There is a !Help file for each of the
Applications directories on this disk.
For example, to access this help for ALPS, click
[MENU] over the "!ALPS" icon, drag across the
App. '!ALPS' �
menu entry and select the 'Help' option.
You may wish to add a !Help file to your
stand-alone game. This is simply a Text file
created using the !Edit application and saved as
"!Help" in your stand-alone game directory.

BACKUPS & HARD DISKS
====================
We know that many customers now own hard disk
drives and will wish to install and use our
software from these. Users with floppy drives may
wish to make a single copy of the floppy disk as a
security backup for their own use only. For these
reasons we have not protected the disk and we hope
that all our customers will respect the faith we
have shown in their honesty and integrity.
We regret that only users registered with Alpine
Software are entitled to upgrades and support
services.
