Re TechForum & producing thumbnail sprites from larger source images, using averaging & error diffusion, a working demo of which is to be found in directory 'Thumbs'. There now follows a description of the core function to this process: The following C function requires the existence of two sprites, of the same name in different sprite areas. The source sprite must be precisely four times the height & width of the destination sprite, & contain the image to be down-sized. The destination sprite's image will be overwritten with the scaled down source image. The source sprite's image will be corrupted. Both sprites must be paletteless 8bpp images, with lbit=0 (the first bit used on each row). x & y are the size of the destination image in pixels. pal256def is an array of 256 integers, each of the form bbggrr00 - it is a copy of the default palette for an 8bpp sprite.
