Highlighter pens can be used to paint over irregular shaped areas or, if you wish, you can quickly and evenly paint over more regular shapes.
To do this select the pen and colour in the same way as before but, before you begin to highlight the area hold down the SHIFT key and then, holding down the select button, drag the pointer over the area you wish to highlight. This in effect creates a rectangular highlighted area.

This method can be used to highlight large areas of the page quickly, perhaps a whole paragraph or a large drawing. The other advantage is that the highlighted areas look much neater.
