!!ReadMe
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

ReadMe file for AU cover disc. Issue 146 September 1994 Because of the size of the DAs Picture demo on this months disc, the format of the disc is a little different. We have had to leave off the !!Menu application, although help on all the applications can be obtained by clicking with the Menu button on the application icon and choosing Help from the App. 'Appname' submenu. The archives can be opened by double-clicking on the application icons, which will open a window showing the contents of the archive. This is equivalent to chosing View (formerly Run) in the !!Menu program. The Adventure archive contains part one of the Inform compiler. There was unfortunately not room to put example programs on this disc: they will appear on the October disc instead. For more information see the World Creation feature in the magazine. ArcFS is the program used to unpack the archives, and is usually an integral part of the !!Menu program. The Extras archive contains: C programs to accompany the C tutorial (see the C for yourself pages in the magazine), a Switch Clicker file (see the Education page in the magazine), the Acorn on the Internet and ftp site list files (see the Comms page in the magazine), a list of free ads which we did not have space for in the magazine and a copy of the network map from the July issue with added lines. The Picture Archive contains a demonstration version of DAs Picture (see the Cover Disc pages in the magazine). The StarInfo archive contains all the programs from the Star Info section. See the Star Info section of the magazine for more information.
