This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

!Winsaver Notes
===============
To use this application install it on the iconbar by double clicking over it
in a filer window. Once installed the following are available :-
Select over Icon : Save contents of all open desktop windows at their
current sizes, bringing each window to the "top" so
that it is unobscured when it is saved. The saved
sprites will include title & scrollbars etc if
present.
Adjust over Icon : As Select but title & scrollbars are not saved -
just the window contents.
Menu : Open iconbar menu with info & quit entries.
Shift & Select : As Select but only top window is saved.
Shift & Adjust : As Adjust but only top window is saved.
Memory Requirements

!Winsaver requires 32k of memory whilst it is installed but not activated.
When saving windows the wimp's next & free slots are used to store the sprite
data PROVIDED that the currently available memory is at least large enough
to hold the entire screen (eg 80k for Mode 12 ). If insuffient memory is
available then the *SCREENSAVE command is used instead, allowing the save to
take place safely. If memory is low then care should be taken to avoid
Insert Disc prompts from ADFS since these can corrupt the saved sprites.
Filing
------
The sprite images of the windows are saved into the SAVED directory within
the !Winsaver application directory ( which can be opened by holding down
shift whilst clicking select over it ). The directory to save to can be
changed by altering the SET Winsprites$Dir command within the !Winsaver !RUN
file or by altering the variable after the !Winsaver icon has appeared on theiconbar. Note that the directory will be created when the icon is clicked if
