This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Spinning Hourglass designs - by Birky the Great ����������������������������������������������� The designs for these Hourglasses were made with !HourMake by Jon Ribbens (of Doggysoft). Thanks very much to him for a star program! This unusual but cute design of hourglass was first seen by me on a Windoze '95 PC - it had come off the internet or something like that. I thought it was really nice (and certainly better than the hourglass I was used to) so I thought I'd replicate it. I hope I'm not infringing anyone's copyright or anything like that - I've already upset enough PC users for one lifetime :-) . The designs are best used on Hi-Res monitors or in Hi-Res modes because of their aspect ratios. They do work with lower resolutions, but they look a bit stretched. There are two types which can be used: �SpinGlass: The one that loads up first of all is the larger, 'as-is-on-the-PC' version of the spinning hourglass: it is highly detailed and has a longer animation cycle, but has no % indicator on it which can prove annoying to some users. �SpinSmall: This one can be loaded up as standard by editing the !Run file. It is a smaller version of the above but with less detailed movements and a shorter animation cycle: however, it can display percentages on a bar directly below.
