This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

!SpeedCtrl version 2.07
==========
With some types of monitors, games will run faster than they were designed.
!SpeedCtrl can be used on any Acorn RiscOS machine, and will slow down the
video update - slowing down the game to the correct speed.
If you are running your machine on a low resolution monitor or a TV, then
there is no need for you to use !SpeedCtrl.
To use !SpeedCtrl, simply:
- double click on !SpeedCtrl to display the Speed Control Panel.
Here you can select 'Full', 'Half', 'TV', or 'User defined' framerate.
Overload has been designed to run at 50Hz, but many monitors run at 60Hz,
70Hz, 90Hz, and even 100Hz.
You should consult your monitor manual to determine the framerate for
Mode 13. Then select the appropriate option.
For instance, if you are running Mode 13 at 100Hz, select 'Half Framerate'
If you are running Mode 13 at 70Hz, select 'TV'.
'Full' and 'Half' framerates guarantee that the game runs perfectly smoothly.
'TV' and 'User defined' guarantee that it will run at a specified speed.
- to disable !SpeedCtrl simply reload : Full framerate is the default selection.
!SpeedCtrl is (C) Paradise 1998, but is freeware - so you may distribute it
freely.
