This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

VRML file info
==============

All models are best viewed with the front light on
and usually with z-buffer. However, memory permitting
some models can be improved with the following settings;

Bridge          - Z Buffer ON
WindMill        - Z Buffer ON
Lamp            - Z Buffer ON
Rose            - Double Sided Polygons
Shoe            - Z Buffer ON
m1a2            - Z Buffer ON, Double Sided Polygons
Porche          - Double Sided Polygons


The chemical models, Windmill and Lamp use built-in
shapes such as Cube, Sphere, Cylinder and Cone. These
Shapes are stretched, rotated and scaled to form complex
models. See the 'MakingMods' file and make your own
VRML models with VRMLeyes.

A lot of VRML are simply conversions from other formats.
Often the file contain only the shape information, not
colour and lighting.  

Some models on this disc were painted in DaVinci90 3D
modeller to give them a bit of life. the PORCHE and SHOE
for example originated as dull blue shapes.
