Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

WSYfont: This program provides user with a WYSWIG font list, a la' Apple Mac ClarisWorks. Lets user see in an instant how all their fonts look. As opposed to searching through non-WSYWIG lists - Time Consuming. Unlike the Mac (ur..I hate that word!) the problem for users of RISC OS is this - All programs (with about 3 exceptions) that will give the user font-lists - e.g. WordProcessors, Spreadsheets etc. - display all the names of the available fonts in *the same font* (the current desktop font) . For those of you don't know, the other way of displaying font-list's is where each font name is displayed in that font. For instance if the font name 'Homerton' is part of the list, the name will appear in the font 'Homerton'. The advantage of this is that when a font list is requested by the user, one can be produced very quickly. For example if you want to see which of your Script-Style fonts bests suits your needs (N.B. not all Script-Style fonts have 'Script' as part of their name) you can do this using a WSYWIG Font-List in a number of seconds. As opposed to methods using applications with non-WSYWIG Font-Lists (almost all RISC OS applications), E.g. Edit, Paint, Draw, and - Which often take over 30 minutes! It has various other facilities - such as the ability to display user defined text in each available font, instead of the font name. Useful for posters etc, where you want to 'quickly' see which font a particular sentence looks best in. N.B. the methods used to compile the font-list make RISC OS slightly unstable. It is advised that you save any unsaved work before use (press escape to quit the program at any time) and 'Reset' the computer after use. - No permanent problems are caused (all can be cured by a 'Reset') and no responsibility for work lost through use is taken. Also compiling the Font-List can be time-consuming if there is little free memory available. Please quit all unessacary applications to 'Free up' maximum memory before using this program. Not a problem if all your work has been saved. The program compiles the font-list on screen and then saves each 'screenfull' as a sprite in the directory '!RISCutils.User_area.Programs.WSYfont.Font-Lists'. Unlike the program these sprites do not make RISC OS unstable, and provide quicker and easier viewing of the Font-Lists. The program is very self-explanatory in use, and will lead you through it's setting-up before compiling the Font-List in simple steps.
