Chapter 2 Installation The demonstration version of Optical does not need to be installed - to load just double-click with Select on the !OptclDemo Filer icon. 2.1 Maximising available memory Scanned sprites can take up a lot of memory, and so it is important to make good use of the memory available. Optical does not use any sprite memory, and only about 32K of font memory. Memory allocation can be temporarily altered using the Task Manager (click with Menu over the icon at the far right of the icon bar and select Task display . On RISC OS 3, it is easier to just click with Select on this icon.)
