This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Version 0.17 beta (04-Feb-1993) ------------------------------- Fixed Palette for RISC OS 2 machines and added colour number options (4096 or 16.7 million), unfortunately I've had to shade out the 'KillSprs' option on the 'Misc' menu because it crashes on RISC OS 3.0 machines when window borders have been IconSprite'd (a bug in the Wimp?). Added '=' hotkey to default palette as well. Version 0.18 beta (05-Feb-1993) ------------------------------- Spelling mistakes, bug fixes, etc... Version 0.19 beta (07-Feb-1993) ------------------------------- ReadMe file updated for features added in last few versions and updated due to a few errors. Fixed a bug in redrawing the contrast and brightness bars. Version 0.20 beta (08-Feb-1993) ------------------------------- I've added the 'random' option (a suggestion from Mark Wheeley, thanks!). If you ask me it's disgusting! Due to this I've also altered the rouding routine (if you have 4096cols selected) so that it does all the colours, not just the one selected. Version 0.21 beta (10-Feb-1993) ------------------------------- Added 'Taxan' module loading added and fixed a small bug in the 'rounding' routines. Decided that I'll now have two modules, one with the taxan modules and one without - this is so that people who don't have a taxan monitor don't have to waste 6k in memory. Version 0.22 beta (12-Feb-1993) ------------------------------- Fixed bug thanks to Owen Gilson. I put in a precautionary measure originating from an early version on Palette that could only have 10 modes on the mode menu, now that you can have upto 20 it still had the check and therefore any selection from the mode menu from 11 till 20 resulted in the 10th being chosen, now fixed. Added hot-key '�' to lose the caret. Also undid shaded 'KillSprs' option so that people who are beta testing can tell me when it crashes. (This is so that 256colour sprites and things on screen will not get left behind.) Added checks on options window to make sure values are valid. Fixed icon positioning on RiscOS 3. Version 1.00 (05-May-1993) -- first release version -------------------------- Just got the new version of WimpExtension, now the sprite mapping works correctly! Fixed a few minor things so that this release version is as perfect as I can make it :-) One thing that has been done is make the registration window get destroyed when it is closed. Version 1.01 alpha (15-May-1993) -------------------------------- Fixed a few bugs, including a re-startup error so that computer crashes on issue of Desktop_Palette or 'reset' button is pressed. Version 1.02 alpha (08-Jun-1993) -------------------------------- Added 'Mode Finder' option onto the misc menu as well as keeping it on the 'Mode' option on the main menu, because people seem to miss that option! I've found out that for some unknown reason, the built in screen saver is causing problems with Palette's... very weird, I guess you will have to use one or the other. Fixed a few bugs. Version 1.03 alpha (09-Jun-1993) -------------------------------- Scrapped present screen saver due to conflicts with the built in screen saver and because it never really worked properly anyway. Now it has an effect instead which is much more pretty and works better. Version 1.04 alpha (10-Jun-1993) -------------------------------- Now instead of just one effect, there are 2 effects and the choice of fading the screen beforehand instead of just jumping into the effect. There is also an option to not have an effect but instead have a blank screen. Version 1.05 alpha (18-Jun-1993) -------------------------------- General tidy up and bug fix. Version 1.06 alpha (19-Jun-1993) -------------------------------- Added UltiMode style mode changer on SHIFT-ALT-number. A few bug fixes with the mode menu. Fixed it so that if the directory 'Defaults' is missing, instead of opening an error box, it just continues and removes the submenu. Changed it so that when you use the hotkey to return the palette to the default, it now changes it to your first palette on the menu, ie. your default and not the computer's.
