Dear Gus,
Here is the Tape - to - Disc article which you asked me to
write when wetalked on the 'phone.
Copying programs of your own from tape to disc is no problem,
and issimply a matter of loading a program from tape,
selecting the disc filingsystem, and then saving the program
to disc. When there are a large numberof tape programs to copy
however, it becomes rather laborious!
There have been a number of Tape - to - Disc transfer programs
publishedwhich automate the process, so that once the transfer
is started all theprograms on one side of the tape will be
transferred to disc without anyfurther attention from the
operator. It is only a matter of turning thetape over when the
other side will be treated in the same way.
The Tape - to - Disc program that I use was written by Roland
Waddilove,and was published in Electron User for January 1986.
I have included acopy of his program with this article. To
start the transfer, just RUN theprogram. It should be noted
that Roland's program will not help you totransfer commercial
tape software which is copy protected.
