Chapter 10 Miscellaneous 10.1 Scaling the scanned image Clicking with Menu over all windows displaying a scanned image produces a menu with a Scale... item. Selecting this opens a window. Changing the scale setting allows the user to control the size of the image on screen to make it more manageable. The writable area contains a value representing the percentage size of the image, relative to its full size. In other words if the value is 100%, the image is displayed at full size, 50% at half size, and 200% at double size. Try entering a new value and clicking on OK or pressing Return to scale the image. The up and down arrows next to the writable area increment and decrement the value respectively. Alternatively, it may be easier to press one of the preset buttons to the left of the writable area. 25% , 50% and 100% enter 25, 50 and 100 respectively, and then scale the image. Scale to window calculates the percentage required to scale the image to the size of the image window, and then scales the image. Scale to screen calculates the percentage required to scale the image to fit horizontally within the current screen size, and then scales the image. Previous scale enters the value of the last scaling factor used, and then scales the image.
