V/+RUGH

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

                     SUNDRY EUG #52 DOCUMENTATION

Antique Freak ("G.ANTIQUE")
ANTIQUE Freak is a short but challenging game in which you move around
the screen collecting antiques including kettles, clocks, vases and
teddy bears. But you must only pick up the type of object displayed at
the bottom of the screen, which changes every so often. Run into any-
hing else and you've had it! Ten points are awarded for each item
collected.
   Controls: Z - Left X - Right : - Up / - Down
                                                 Chris Dewhirst, EUG #52

Bombhunt ("G.BOMBHUN")
ASSIGNED to the surface of an unknown planet, your mission is to locate
and defuse time bombs that appear at random. But unfortunately, the best
your craft can to is to convert the bombs into deadly mines. Run into
one of those and, bang, no more bomb hunting for you!
Use the Z, X, : and / keys to move around the screen. To defuse a
bomb, just move into it. You'll earn ten points for your efforts. My
best score is 410 - can you do any better?
                                                 Chris Dewhirst, EUG #52

Stamp Border ("U.STMPfrm")
THE impressive looking stamp-styled EUG opening screen on this disk also
spawned this simple yet very visually pleasing utility to encase screens
with a soft ridge by overlaying two colours. The code is written in
BASIC and, while it may look a little confusing, it is most likely that
you will only need to alter the GCOL statements in it to adapt it to fit
screens you create yourself. It works well with JIGSAW screens such as
the EUG #48 number and to save the adapted screen to disk, all you need
to add is a line to the effect of *SAVE newpic 3000 8000.
                                                     (The) Dave, EUG #52

Super Gran Adventure ("G.SGRAN1" and "G.S")
CAN you help Super Gran defeat the Evil Scunner Campbell in this superb
kids' adventure from Tynesoft written by Brian Howarth and Mike Woodruff
of Adventure International (Gremlins) fame.
In the town of Chisleton, Scunner Campbell has been up to his old
tricks and he has stolen some valuable items from the town hall and
museum.
As SUPER GRAN, it is your task to catch the Scunner and return the
valuables to where they belong.
Beware though because the evil Scunner Campbell has some dastardly
tricks up his sleeve to make things difficult for you.
This is a very rare adventure game originally produced by Tynesoft in
1985. If you manage to complete it, please send the solution to EUG.
                                                     (The) Dave, EUG #52

And finally, a fascinating fact that isn't so fascinating...
THE loading screen on this month's EUG is a copy of a Hungarian stamp.
