Examples/!Animals/peacock

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

The peacock butterfly has a wing span of between 5 cm. and 6 cm. and is a member of the Nymphalidae family. The eye spots are to protect it from birds. Its underside is brown-black. There is one generation of Peacock butterflies each year, appearing in summer, often seen in the autumn and surviving through the winter to re-appear in the spring. The peacock butterfly is quite common and is seen wherever nettles grow, even in urban parks and gardens. The caterpillar feeds on nettles. It can be easily identified as it is jet black with fine white speckles*Text*251DrawHilighter d	d
