This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Directory Finder ---------------- The !FindDir application needs the Shared C Library so that it can run. It will expect to load the CLib module from the !System application so you must make sure that the computer has displayed the !System application icon on the desktop before the !FindDir application is started. The CLib module has been updated from time to time so you may not have the version (3.50 or later) which !FindDir requires. To enable you to update your !System application we have included the !SysMerge application in the same directory as the !FindDir application. This simple program will update any old versions of the shared system resources with newer ones. Read the !SysMerge Help file to find out how to update your old !System application with the new version of the Clib module. Error Reports ------------- If, when you have tried to run !FindDir, you get an error message saying "System resources cannot be found" let the desktop see the !System application and run the program again. If you get an error message saying "You need SharedCLibrary 3.50 or later" then update your !System with the new CLib module in the way described above.
