Utilities/!Modoff/!Help/ReadMe

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

                                     v1.04

This utility allows you to unplug, and reinit ROM modules
by a mouse click. When started a hourglass starts to show a
percentage. This is in fact the count of ROM modules.

After a while (e.g. the hourglass showed 38%) a window
opens with the ROM modules listed. The first button in every
row shows if the module is unplugged or not. If it shows a
green check, it's not unplugged. If it shows a red cross, it
is unplugged. Clicking on these buttons toggles between both
          states.

Next in the row is the number of the module in its area.
Than there is the module name, and the amount of RMA it uses
(amount of workspace, it is the amount gained when
unplugging the module). Sometimes it is not possible to find
out how much RMA a module would use, because it is
unplugged, or dormant (the state of a module like Econet
when no Econet hardware is found).

At the top of the window is an item showing the total RMA
used by the ROM modules. There is also the option to choose
between decimal or hexadecimal representation of numbers in
          the window.

If you have any suggestions, or you found some bug, or if
you just want to tell me how great you think this program
is, write a note to the address below.
