SPLIT_EXE
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Each file will have the same name as the originalN but with a file extension consisting of a numerical suffix starting at 01. IfL the file has an extension then a file named FILETYPE is placed on the firstH disk with the correct extension. This is used when restoring the files. J You will first be asked to enter the full path/filename of the file to beN split. Once you have chosen which drive is to be used for the split files you9 need only insert each floppy disk in turn when prompted.H SPLIT will use all the free space on each disk, leaving intact anythingM already there. It is therefore important to delete any unwanted files beforeM you begin. The files are intended to be restored by the SPLICE program, so a1 copy of this should be placed on the first disk.L SPLIT is not Public Domain. It is part of the Shareware CHOPPER package andL must not be distributed separately from the rest of the package. UnlicensedO users are only permitted to try SPLIT for an evaluation period of THIRTY DAYS.N At the end of this time you must send a registration fee of TEN POUNDS to the' author.
