INTRODUCTION
You have to load a printer driver before you
can print.
If you have RISC OS 3, use the printer drivers
supplied with your computer and refer to your
RISC OS 3 User Guide for how to use them. Do
not use the printer drivers on disc 2. IGNORE
THE REST OF THIS SECTION.
If you have RISC OS 2, use the printer drivers
on disc 2.
LOADING A RISC OS 2 PRINTER DRIVER
Double-click on the icon of the driver which
suits your printer:
� !PrinterDM: dot-matrix printers
� !PrinterLJ: Hewlett Packard LaserJet,
DeskJet and compatible laser printers
� !PrinterIx: Integrex colour printers
� !SibPS: PostScript printers
SETTING UP A RISC OS 2 PRINTER DRIVER
Each printer driver handles more than one type
of printer. To change the type:
� Click Select on the printer icon (on the
icon bar) to open the printer selection
window
� Click Select on the printer type to cycle
through the various ones available. Many
printer drivers also allow you to adjust the
printing resolution in this way.
You can save the setting by clicking Menu on
the printer driver icon and choosing Save
choices.
PAPER SIZES
In the printer driver�s Page size menu you can
adjust the paper size. This should always
match the paper you have in the printer, but
it needn�t necessarily match the page size you
choose in Sibelius�s Score�Dimensions... win-
dow.
MARGINS
You shouldn�t need to adjust these as they
should already be correct for your printer,
unless it is a Hewlett Packard Deskjet or
DeskJet Plus (see manual).
The paper margins have nothing to do with the
score margins in Sibelius�s Dimensions window.
MONOCHROME GRAPHICS
This switch on the printer selection window
makes printing black-and-white graphics much
faster. Since music is only printed in black
and white, you might as well switch this
option on.
TEXT PRINTING OPTIONS
These are ignored by Sibelius. To print in
landscape format, select the Sideways on paper
switch on Sibelius�s Print window.
POSTSCRIPT PRINTERS
PostScript printers do not contain the special
Opus fonts used to print music symbols. Hence
you should use the special printer driver
!SibPS, which sends the printer the fonts at
the start of printing. You should also use it
when printing files saved from Sibelius into
other applications using Save graphic.
