The great pond snail is about 5 cm. in length and has a thin, brownish green, conical shaped shell. It feeds on vegetation, but unlike most water snails, it will also feed on decaying animals. The female lays her eggs in a jelly like substance which is attached to water plants, especially the underside of water-lily leaves. The great pond snail favours ponds with muddy bottoms and, more rarely, slow flowing rivers. � *Text*71 � Draw� Hilighter , X � , X
