ReadMe

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Atelier Release Notes 20/6/89 v1.00
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Please note that the highly advanced techniques used for screen
compaction result in the ability to save over twenty screens to an 800K
disk. However, this does mean that compaction is not as fast as some, less
efficient techniques and saving screens may take longer than other methods.
If you wish to save screens frequently, during development, it suggested
that the compressed format be used as this is generally faster and usually
results a reasonable degree of compression. The finished picture may then be
stored in the compacted format for maximum efficiency or use with the
Sequencer.
2. In some circumstances (generally relating to missing/corrupted font
disks), it is possible to get into a situation where an error box
continually re-appears when clicking [OK] on it. In this case, you may
either remedy the cause of the problem (ie. replace the font disk) or, if
this is impossible, you may click [MENU] on the error box or click [SEL] on
the [!] icon.
3. The AtelFiles directory will have extra example files in it and these
will vary from time to time. It is suggested that experimentation reveals
the contents of the directory (in addition to those files described in the
manual) on any particular issue.
