!Verbs/!Help

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

The Irregular French Verb Utility

This application takes most of the boredom of looking up irregular
french verbs while you are writing an essay. It runs in Risc OS and
when you double-click on the icon it loads up a window which contains
many icons.

The French icon lets you type in an irregular French verb (like
'aller') and when you press return the program searches for it. If you
do not know the French, but no the english (like 'to go'), you type
that into the English icon, the program will then search for it. If
you just want to browse through the verbs you can do so with the arrow
icons. There are about 50 verbs in its memory.

Once it has found a verb the program will display some of the verb's
tenses (present, perfect and imperfect) it will also show how it
changes with the subject (je, tu, il, elle etc.). This is all
displayed in the table in the window. Some verbs bring up a notice at
the bottom of the window. If you click on this message the program
will automatically go to the verb mentioned.

To quit the program simply close the window or quit it from the task
display window.
