This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

The future of FracPaint ======================= Only if a reasonable number of users decide to become a registered FracPaint user, I will continue to develop this program. The following things can be expected in future releases: - Faster computations. - Formula editor. This means that any complex formula can be entered and edited to have access to an unlimited number of formulas and images. - Control over all other parameters used by FracPaint (such as colour methods). This means the user has more control over the image generated by FracPaint. - Suspend and continue image calculation. This means that an image which will take (very) long time to complete can be calculated in parts (the computer can be turned off, and the image can be completed at another moment). - Virtual memory for very large images. This means that very large images can be generated. - Output of calculation results for all points. These results can be used by both the user, and the program. In this way, an image has only to be calculated once, to experiment with the colour method, colour range, and other parameters, which currently need a total redraw of the image. - 3-dimensional computation. A (currently 2d) image can be transformed to a 3d-image, in a number of different ways. So please register, or you have to miss al those wonderful new features.
