This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Simple Projects BBC font converter : !mkBBCfont

!mkBBCfont converts files of type FF7 (BBC font) to sprite
files containing one 8x8 mode 0 sprite per defined character,named
according to character code: eg. 'A' is converted to a sprite with
name '65'.
It also does the reverse, so once you have edited the font
as a set of sprites, !mkBBCfont can convert it back to a BBC font
file.
The operation is simple:
� Click Select on the application icon to generate
sprites from the current system font definition, or drag
a BBC font file or Sprite file onto the application icon.
� Drag the converted file to where you want it.
The example font FatASCII was produced in this way. It's a
little strange, but quite readable in !Edit windows with a line
spacing of 2 pixels.
!mkBBCfont was written originally as a tool to help me to
develop a game which I am writing, and which I hope to be ready by
Christmas.
