This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

ReadMe file for !Find
v1.08
This application will 'Find' files for you. It is
especially useful for harddisc owners, as it is so easy to
lose track of certain files on it. You'll have to fill in a
(wildcarded) name, and optionally choose a certain
file-type (click MENU over the 'Type' icon). !Find will
search starting at the specified root. Select the required
Files or Directories option (or both by using ADJUST), and
hit 'Go'.
Changing the root to a certain directory can be done by
dragging the directory into the window.
When you hit 'Go', the search starts. 'Abort' will be
visible, and here you may stop the process. All found files
(and/or directories) will show up in the same window.
Clicking SELECT on them will open their parent directory
viewer.
!Find is a multi-tasking utility which means it allows you
to continue working with other applications, even it is
searching.
In the !Run file of the application you can customise !Find
a little. This is done stating a 'B' or an 'R' in a variable
called 'Find$Options'. The 'B' in the string will cause the
window to scroll so any new found file/directories will
always be shown. The 'R' im the string will cause the window
to resize, so a maximum of found files/directories will be
shown. The two options can be used separate, together or not
at all.
