The First Great Year This column is now well into its fourth year and even I am having difficulty in remembering in which issue a particular tip, poke or piece of news appeared. Consequently, in response to a request from a reader and occasional contributor, Walt Patterson of Amersham, I have decided to put together a brief summary of the contents of each column of my first year: March 1987 to February 1988. Please note that pokes for the compilation versions always state that they are for that one on the collection. For example, in my very first column I featured pokes to provide infinite lives and infinite fuel for what was at the time the only cassette version of Thrust. When Thrust was subsequently re-released on the first Play It Again Sam compilation, it appeared in a slightly different format to that of the original. This meant that the original pokes would not work on the new version, so I devised similar pokes that would. These modified pokes appeared in the June 1988 column. Similarly, I recently received a request from Alan Hammond of West Mersea, Essex for the full set of passwords for Repton 3. From this list it can be easily seen that they _ together with the appropriate edit codes _ appeared in my second-ever column, in April 1987. Incidentally, I will be featuring similar summaries for the years March 1988 to February 1989 and March 1989 to February 1990 in the next two columns, so keep a look out for them.
