!AWNov93/Goodies/Enigma/HardDisk

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Installation onto Hard Drive
----------------------------

When Enigma prompts for insertion of a levels disk it expects to find the 'levels' directory in the root directory of an inserted floppy disk. If, however, you want Enigma to find it somewhere down the directory tree of a hard drive, then follow these instructions:

*Open the !Enigma directory by double clicking with Shift held down
*Load Edit, and drag the Enigma !Run file onto its icon
*Locate the seventh line:
       Set EnigmaLevels$Dir $
 This tells Enigma where to find the levels file
*Swap the '$' for the pathname of the directory in which 'levels' resides, e.g.
       Set EnigmaLevels$Dir SCSI::HD4.$.Games.Enigma
*Save the !Run file with the Edit Save option

Enigma will now be configured to run off your hard drive. If an error occurs, check you have typed in the pathname correctly.
