Examples/!Animals/puffin

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

The puffin, a member of the Auk family, is about 30 cm. in height. Well adapted to aquatic life, it feeds on fish, shellfish and plankton. The puffin can be found on steep, rugged cliffs, particularly on the north and west coasts of the British Isles. It nests between rocks or in a burrow which it digs on the ground, and lays one egg sometime between May and September. Ornithologists are trying to discover the reason for the sharp decline in the puffin population in an effort to prevent them from becoming extinct. The chemical pollution of their feeding grounds is considered a possibility.*Text*71DrawHilighter `	`
