This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Arcventure III - The Vikings Demo Disc -------------------------------------- Loading the software -------------------- Place the Arcventure III Demo disc in the drive and click the select button on the floppy disc icon (:0). This will open a window containing the application !AV3Demo. Move the pointer over this application and double click the select button. After a short delay the Arcventure III icon will appear on the icon bar. Using the software ------------------ Arcventure III has been designed to be very simple to use. Most options are chosen by a single click of the select button. The simplest way to begin the demo adventure is to click the select (left) button on the Arcventure III icon on the icon bar. During the program, whenever there is a Continue option on the screen you must click the select button on it, irrespective of any other buttons which are also visible at the time. Using the keyboard ------------------ There are several keys which may be used throughout the program. Function keys: F1 Sound off F2 Sound on Shift key - holding a Shift key speeds up digging, text display, walking and time line. Expedition only L - look for special items/information D - closes any open door adjacent to where you are standing Home - will confront you with the questions you need to answer provided you have collected the relevant information. Saving/Loading -------------- This option is not available in this demo version. Quitting the software -------------------- To leave either the excavation or expedition hold down the Ctrl key and press the letter Q (Ctrl Q).
