*INFO Compiled by Dave Lawrence and Dave Acton Run this application to open a Filer window containing the programs from this month's *INFO column. Graduate, Select, RBGcube, HSVcone, CIE and InterPol are all programs to display various colour systems. The following programs demonstrate these models: ��RGBcube Red, Green, Blue cube model ��CIE CIE model ��HSVcone Hue Saturation Value model ��Select All three of the above Graduate and InterPol show the effects of dithering to achieve an increased number of colours. Note that the CIE program takes a long time to display the model, and pressing Escape will exit the program, although the keypress will take about a second to register. Snake and Top are two graphical demos. Snake displays a pattern of hexagonal stars: move the mouse to move the snake, and press a button for a new figure. Top is a 3D demo, displaying a solid spinning top consisting of 2,400 faces. Move the mouse to change the point of view. Cabbage and Pulsar are also graphical demos. Cabbage generates cabbage leaves on the screen, and Pulsar creates a pulsating symmetric pattern. On running Pulsar you will be asked for one of four shapes, each of which creates a different pattern. QuasiJ+M is a quasi-Mandelbrot and Julia set generator. When the program is run, you will be asked to choose either Mandelbrot or Julia: for the Julia set you will be asked for a pair of parameters to define the set. The following keypresses and mouse buttons are used by the program: ��S save the screen ��N allow the screen mode to be changed ��Space zoom in on the set ��Select reduce size of target window ��Adjust increase size of target window ��Menu start image generation of target window ��I allow parameters to be entered ��J swap to Julia set ��M swap to Mandelbrot set Dancer and Skater are just that: they display a dancer and a skateboarder which can be jiggled about by using the mouse.
