EDIT1
This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Apologies: I made a few mistakes on disk 14. Thanks to all who pointed them out. If you had not done so I don't think I would have ever discovered them myself. I wanted to get the disk published on a two monthly basis and have the months February, April, June, August, October and December. This way each disk can coincide with a major part of the year. My biggest fear is that in setting up the organisation of EUG I might miss someone out or miss out their total subscriptions. If your totals are not what you think they should be write to me. A number of people wrote commenting on my use of BASIC in the menu on disk 14. I did this because I wanted 14 out as soon as possible to catch up with the schedule and Richard was away on holiday. Richard Dimond. Richard is now back to rescue us all from my terrible programming and repleat with some new menu routines everything will go perfectly. The opening screen was scrapped because I don't like it. On disk 9 it was ok, disk 10; again, disk 11; boring, disk 12 and 13; not that again disk 14; not again. I am happy to say that some members have sent in alternative opening screens and these will be used in successive issues in the order they were received. Anyone else fancy sending in a screen do so, it willappear in a future issue. Talking of Richard. Yes let's. I haven't put Richard's name on letter heads mainly because I had not had a chance to discuss with him what sort of title he would like or if he even wanted to continue. I happy to say that he does and he doesn't mind what his title is. So. Programming Boffin it is. He can be reached at his usual adress but I would prefer you to send any queries to me here an I will pass them on, let's face it I'll have to. Wot no members codes? This is well in hand and will hopefully appear in the next issue. Subscriptions. A word about the subscriptions codes on your address label. The number indicates the number of disks you have left to receive. So if that number is 0 the after this disk you need to send in more subscriptions to get the next disk. My arithmetic does sometimes fail me so if I make a mistake tell me. Submission disks. When you make a submission I would prefer it to be on a disk, I have typed in a number of letters but it is very tiring. Disks will be returned to you or to be more percise a replacement disk. The disks I use are of good quality but if you want your original disk please indicate. Can you also write your name and your address on the disk please. If you do this in pencil it can be rubbed off again. Disks will normally be returned when your EUG disk is sent out. If I have to return them immediately it will take so much time but I will if you insist. Programs will of course be written in BASIC or if you can Assembly. Text is better sent in as a word processor file. Will's request to convert it to BASIC is no-longer necessary. Anything else send it as it is. But remember SEND IT IN. Diagram est ici Diagram is on this disk. It isn't perfect, yet. Some modifications will be needed with time. But it is working well. It is there to illustrate submissions. SEND THEM IN This disk is a big improvement on the last. Several programs of interest, some interesting features, there's several contributions in the help section and two software companies have responded to my invitation to advertise their products free in EUG on this disk. Adventure Soft sent their advertising on printed sheet. I typed in the price list but I'm afraid the rest of it detailing the contents of some of their software was a little too much for my tired fingers. Perhaps by the next disk they will have something programmed like the excellent submission from Head First. I for one shall definitely be taking a look at that. Copyright EUG is a non-profit making concern. It exists as a forum for users of 8 bit Acorn machines to exchange help, information and programming. If you pass on your copy of EUG to anyone else who has not bought it you are taking away the funds from EUG which are needed to continue. You are in effect stealing from yourself and all the other members. I'm sorry to sound blunt but if someone else wants a copy of EUG tell them to buy their own. This is why EUG must and will support the copyright laws as they stand at the moment. There are a lot of faults in the copyright laws but it is not the place of EUG or anyone else to change laws which we don't agree with, only parliment can do that. So please, even if you disagree with a copyright respect it. That way evryone benefits. The cost of EUG at the moment works out at about 65p per month for UK members and a wee bit more for our overseas members. Not bad. Subscriptions. I have had a suggestion that EUG could have yearly subscriptions. I am working on something at the moment more details probably in the December issue. Has anyone heard of a disk apparently published by one of the big software houses aimed at 8 bit Acorns? I have been told it exists but cannot find it in any of the shops. I must confess I rarely read any of the Acorn magazines now because they seem to be exclusivly aimed at 32 bit machines. Having once owned one of these I have little interest in them and I don't want to pay the huge cost of these magazines to read about them. Anyway if anyone has a copy of one of these disks how about doing a review in the next issue. SoCommodorehavegone bust. Well another company falls under the relentless march of the PC. The latest version of the PC takes so long to load anything even the shop keepers are commenting. An interesting submission from a user group in New Zealand in the features section gives their perspective on the PC. The next EUG is due in October. Keep the submissions rolling in. They really do make for a more interesting magazine. And without your submissions there is no magazine. EUG 25, Bertie Road, Southsea, Hampshire. PO4 8JX 0705 781168 PS Sorry this disk is so late. You wouldn't believe the succession of problems I have had. Though thinking about it you might think they are excuses which they are so I won't bore you. Anyway thanks for being so patient.
