This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

.........*.......*.......*.......*.......*.......*.......*.......*......< PBOFF Gus Donnachaidh R.A.Dimond EUG Editor 5 Briary Court 25 Bertie Road SIDCUP Portsmouth Kent Hampshire DA14 6HZ PO4 8JX 19th Apr 1999 Dear Gus, Here is the promised letter and book review for the mag at last !! I am sorry that I did not sent anything further for the mag - you did not publish the letter or the game which I sent for disc. The letter replied to Alan Richardson's problem re the perforation skip and other comments. Also I amended the info to cover this and the info file is missing from the EUG 42 discs you sent me. There were also some other games on another disc I sent earlier. I have written to Robert Sprowson and he has done me the EPROMS for ADFS and AP4DFS to get my disc interface going again but unfortunately my Elks have packed up. I am hoping a friend will be able to help but Robert has suggested I post them to him if I pay the postage for return (about #4 each way). He has repaired the ribbon cable of my dual drives so that I can now use double sided discs in them again. I have now bought the Master 128 he had on offer and I can my printer with this when I have got it working properly agaiin. I am still considering getting a PC so that I can get on line and have got some books which are very helpful. There are a series of Easy PC books which I have bought from The Book People Ltd.(Order Line), Hall Wood Avenue, Haydock, St. Helens, Merseyside, WA11 9UR. They sell four of the series at #4.99 - half the normal price. I have now got these four - PCs in Easy Steps Windows 95 .. .. Web Page Design .. .. Internet Directory UK .. .. I have done my best to write a review of these for the mag as I think that they are very helpful. I also have the PC Expert Collection from The PC Information Centre, Hartslade, Lichfield, WS14 9RH. This is a ring bound book which they keep up to date. I have written some comments on this too. All I want now is my PC and if you have any suggestions, I shall be glad to hear from you. I have the latest Micro Mart and I see some which might suit at around #400 to #500. Any ideas?? I would be interested to know what you have got and possibly could get the same equipment so we could help each other with our problems. If you could let me know this as soon as you can, I could possibly get on line sooner. There is a shop in Welling near me I might try. I see that there is a web site for the SPECTRUM so it is high time we had a site for the Electron and BBC computers!! The address of the Spectrum site is - http://www.void.demon.nl/spectrum.html. It is called The World of Spectrum. It even includes an emulator !! I think you could get some interesting ideas from this. I hope to be on line in the near future.... Regards, Richard Dimond Is my writing so boring that noone reads it at all!! We have a web site. It isn't very good and I need some help programming it. See Knocking the Gate in the features menu. Really sorry about leaving out your submissions. I will think of a suitable excuse. One problem I am having with some of your submissions is that you often put them on the EUG disc which I send you and I can't really tell the difference unless I load every file. After making up an EUG I tend to have seen every file about a dozen times and it gets a little ahhhmmm, boring. I have just had a look at the disc and discovered that the letter which you sent was saved as +gus1. I don't know how familure you are with my GUS column but the character which I try to play when I write that column really winds me up. This is one column which I really wouldn't normally read again. I have now read your letter and have the information you sent. Thanks anyway. Perhaps you could delete all but the most essential files from the discs which you send. I appreciate your throughness. This is what makes you such a good programmer. On the subject of directories. Yes there is a bit of a problem with the sequence of the printouts. I hoped this wouldn't be too much of a problem and the advantage of sightly quicker disc access would be compensation. I am trying, on this disc to position the files on the disc surface in the order they would normally be called, especially if you work you way through EUG in sequence. Any comments from anyone?? This letter was infact sent to me by Richard. He sent another for publication but his disc had a fault and knowing how much everyone enjoys Richards sparkling prose I decided to publish this one instead.
