MUSIC and SOUND :
The sound is configured as off because it does not
currently work on the RISC PC700 (or PC600 with a
16bit sound card)
To turn the sound on, change the EFFECTS and MUSIC
options from the GLOBAL icon on the icon bar.
INTRODUCTION :
Global Effect is a world simulation game with
particular emphasis on the enviromental effects
of industrial development.
You will start with an empty, stable world that will
slowly change and evolve.
You must try and build cities that have the least
impact on the enviroment as possible. Look at the
CO2, temperature and pollution charts to track
your progress.
You start with a fixed amount of energy, which is
displayed on a blue bar on the left hand side of
the main game screen. When you build or make any
actions the energy will drop. You must construct
power stations to keep the energy high.
There are many aspects of game play in this
simulation that can provide hours of fun as well
as education - the full version has many more
worlds and scenerios as well as battle options and
a competitive computer player. The manual stretches to
over 60 pages so it is very difficult to describe the
entire game in all of its glory in such a short
readme file.
