This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

BELEAGUERED CASTLE MODIFICATIONS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ By Richard Dimond I was interested in John McHugh's comments on my program and agree that an 'undo' routine could be very useful - I have often wanted to do this with a patience game! I am not sure that this could be done but have had some thoughts on this and, if successful, I will sumbit the changes needed. Meanwhile, I have made up the re-deal facility which I mentioned. This involves several small changes, additions and deletions. These are listed in the file 'CASmods'. This file should be *SPOOLed to form a text file which can then be *EXECed into CASTLE2. The lines 910 and 960 should then be DELETEd and then the program can then be RENUMBERed and SAVEd. The instructions should now read ESCAPE instead of RETURN for re-dealing. On running the program, you will need to enter a Deal Nmuber or simply press RETURN for a random deal. After the cards are dealt, the deal number is printed below the cards on the left. I hope these mods will help - you can even make a record of the deals you complete!! I have done this with two other patince games from Micro User and found that I could complete a deal after a second or third try.
