20-02-88/ROMINFO

This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.

Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

MYROM

By J R Crellin

Purpose

A screen dump ROM image for the MASTER
128 and EPSON FX80 compatibles. MYROM
offers correct aspect ratio,
intelligent colour - shade translation
and easy-to-use syntax. An instant
dump feature is provided that has
proved usable with a wide range of
software.

*IMAGE followed by optional parameters
as below prints the current screen.

  HORIZONTAL gives "right way up"
printing but of lower quality.

NOBLUE ignores blue and treats it as
black (useful for the large number of
screens that use blue as the
background eg weather maps on
Teletext).

INVERT causes colours to print in
their true shades (ie with dark screen
printing up solid black).

  TEXT prints text only.

*TEXT can be used as a direct command
for text.

*PREPARE takes the same optional
parameters as *IMAGE and sets up MYROM
to print when <SHIFT LOCK> and <CAPS
LOCK> are pressed together. This
combination is chosen as it is
unlikely to be used in software that
is having its snapshot taken. The
only side effect is that a SHIFT LOCK
or CAPS LOCK state may be entered but
this can easily be rectified.

*DEFAULT will reset the ROM
