This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

�B# INSTALLING !SEE#
!See needs Risc OS version 3.1. It has not been tested
on later versions, and I suspect that it will only
work in VGA style modes.
To work, !See must have been �1seen�0 by the wimp first.
You may find it convenient to Filer_Boot it at startup.
!See uses a filetype, which I have set to 0a4. If you
do not like that, alter the line
�8set Seetype 0a4
in both the !Boot and the !Run files. You will also need
to rename the sprite in !Sprites. I have called this
filetype #SeeFile#. Double-clicking on a SeeFile should
cause it to be displayed in a See-window. Double-clicking
on !See causes the SeeFile Help application to be run.
When Filer_Booted !See creates the command #see# which
can be used to run SeeFiles. It can also be used to display
text files in a See window (perhaps useful because they are
read-only). However, you can only have embedded clickable
commands and many colours in a SeeFile. In fact, you can use
See to view other files than text or See Files, but beware
that files with control codes other than ASCII 10 may cause
strange behaviour.
!See uses two bitmapped fonts - the current system font and
an extra font, held in the file ExtraChars, which gets loaded
whenever a SeeFile is displayed. You can, of course, edit
ExtraChars with a bitmap font editor.
