This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

I2:\Sopen the 'PreDesk' directory. Sprites, modules, obey files & applications placed there will be loaded prior to entering the Desktop. I3:\Sopen the 'Tasks' directory. Any files or applications placed there will be Filer_Run after the Desktop is entered. I4:\SLoad the 'PreDesktop' file into !Edit. This file is obeyed before the Desktop is entered. See the comments in the file for more information. I5:\SLoad the 'Desktop' file into !Edit. Running this file causes the Desktop to be entered and the commands in it to be obeyed. See the comments in the file for more information. I6:\SOpen the 'Resources' directory. Applications placed here will be booted after entering the Desktop. You should put !System, !Scrap etc. here. I7:\SOpen the 'Utils' directory. This directory is used to store files which boot uses internally. Do not delete any files found here as they may cause !Boot to go wrong!! I8:\SOpen the 'Special' directory. The files 'PreDesktop' and 'Desktop' will be Obeyed if Alt is pressed when the system is booted. I12:\Tcurrently selected backdrop sprite. Drag \s to save this sprite to an editor or filer viewer. I13:Click to open a menu listing the available sprites. I14:\Smake the backdrop sprite appear centred. I15:\Smake the backdrop sprite appear scaled to fit the screen. I16:\Stile the backdrop sprite. I17:Drag sprite files here to include them in the backdrop sprite list. I18:\Sdelete the currently selected sprite. I19:\Sset the backdrop and save as the default. \a will keep the window open. I20:\Sset the backdrop. \a will keep the window open.
