This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

!DeskUtils has the following functions:
* Basic Editor front end
* 4 Overscan modes
* Mouse step selector
* Wipe/Copy/Count options selector

Basic Editor front end
----------------------
This is accessed simply by dragging the Basic
file you wish to edit onto the DeskUtils icon
Overscan modes/mouse step/options
---------------------------------
These can all be accessed from the menu, and
are all fairly self-explanatory
Set filetype
------------
To use the filetyper, select the "Set Type"
option from the menu. A box will appear into which
you can enter either a file type or type string, or
alternatively load/exec addresses. The files you
wish to filetype are then dragged into the Set Type
window.
Set current directory
---------------------
The current directory can be set by dragging
the DeskUtils with adjust onto the filer window
of the directory you wish to become the current
one.
*Wipe function
--------------
Drag the file/directory you wish to wipe onto
the DeskUtils icon whilst holding down the Delete
key. Note: you MUST keep the Delete key depressed
during this operation, otherwise the program is
inclined to collapse in a heap.
*Info function
--------------
Dray the file you want information on onto the
DeskUtils icon whilst holding down Insert. A box
similar to the file type window appears, and file
informaton can be altered in much the same way as
it can in the settyper. Click on OK to save any
