DELETE
This deletes the selected object. When editing
text, it deletes the character to the left of
the caret.
ALT
Alt with Adjust is used to copy notes, chords,
rests and irrational rhythms into the second
voice. It can also be used to type in special
characters (see manual).
CTRL
� Ctrl with some letters is a shortcut way of
choosing from the menu; e.g. Ctrl-S (written
^S on the Lines menu) chooses a slur
� Ctrl with some characters produces special
music symbols when editing certain text
styles; e.g. Ctrl-F produces the 'forte'
symbol
� Ctrl-X does the same as Delete. Ctrl-C does
the same as clicking Adjust. Ctrl-Z desel-
ects the selected object.
Ctrl also forces contraints on some opera-
tions:
� Ctrl-Adjust makes a note or chord copy to
the same pitch
� When dragging slurs, ties and phrase-marks,
Ctrl keep the arch in the exact centre
� Ctrl prevents the right-hand end of lines
from moving up or down when dragging. Useful
for creating ties.
RETURN
When editing text, starts a new piece of text
down a line. When in windows, chooses OK or
Print.
FUNCTION KEYS (F1-F12)
Used (with or without Shift and Ctrl) to
modify the selected note or rest.
TAB
When in windows, moves to the next box. Shift-
Tab moves to the previous box.
PRINT
Pops up the Print window.
EDITING TEXT
When editing text, various special keys are
available. (See manual for a complete list.)
Some only work in certain text styles.
