This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Welcome to this new exciting 3D environment. !TMViewer
is only a viewer of TopModel files (type 3DModel, &B5C)
and implements a small part of its graphic engine. You
can run !TMViewer by double-clicking on the application
directory, or by double-clicking on one of the supplied
TopModel files. Then you are presented with a dialogue
box for memory setup. Once TMViewer is loaded you can
only load files, add some library objects and modify
view parameters (zoom, pan, rotation and view style).
Main short-cuts are:
CTRL+Select :zoom IN/OUT
CTRL+Adjust :rotate view
CTRL+SHIFT+Menu :pan IN/OUT
All other combinations and movements are disabled, so
navigation in the scene is not as comfortable as it is
in TopModel. When in shaded wireframe or in any of the
two Gouraud style modes, TMViewer uses the first
default material (plastic) to calculate light
contribute. In these modes you only have frontal and
ambiental lights. You should activate the option
"Calculate Reflection" in the "Setup Light Parameter"
dialogue box, to enable the real-time recalculation of
reflected light. If you choose Phong view style, then
you can have a feedback of each object attributes. Last
but not least, when you are in any of 256 colour modes,
you can choose the true-colour view mode in which the
graphic engine shows you the real colours of objects
(in all the other modes you work using one of the 16
logical colour TopModel manages) and deals with
materials and with any coloured light activated. It
also allows user defined trasparencies. At the end of
the view style selector you find the possibility to
enable textures (if any) or trasparency (if any). On
the vertical pane you can find all the buttons required
to modify the view, to visualize axis, grid and so on.
Watch carefully the on-line help to discover all the
possibilities TMViewer has. As far as the main bar is
concerned, we have left the main tools to show you some
of TopModel's features. You can only add objects from
libraries, dragging them from the creation pane.
TMViewer loads any texture present in the scene files
using ChangeFSI, so there must be enough memory to
perform this task, otherwise some of the textures may
not be loaded.
Please note:if you run !TMViewer on any version of
RISC OS less than 3.5 (i.e. you do not have
a Risc PC) then system sprite area will be
corrupted, and this may cause some other
applications to hang (for ex. SparkFS which
uses the same area...)
