This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SIBELIUS 6, SIBELIUS 7 STUDENT & SIBELIUS 7
Sibelius Software now sells four different music programs, called Sibelius
6, Sibelius 7 Student and Sibelius 7, plus the new Junior Sibelius! program.
Sibelius 7 is the full professional version, which can handle just about
any kind of music of any complexity - even massive orchestral scores with
over 100 instruments, obscure avant garde notation, early music (such as
lute tablature and figured bass), and the stringent requirements of
professional music publishing.
Sibelius 7 Student is a cut-down version suitable for about A-level
standard. You can still do complicated music such as orchestral and band
scores, but the more obscure bits of notation and the more advanced
publishing features are omitted.
Sibelius 6 is a further cut-down version for home use and up to about GCSE
standard. It can do almost all standard music notation, but omits some of
the more advanced features of Sibelius 7 Student.
Junior Sibelius! is a new, very easy program for primary schools - details
available separately.

------PLAYBACK & MIDI
All three programs have Flexi-time input, MIDI file importing and many
playback features.
Unlike Sibelius 6, Sibelius 7 & 7 Student have:
'Espressivo' - super-realistic playback * 'sound-stage' virtual concert hall
* jazz 'swing' * mute/bring out individual instruments * reverb control *
MIDI files exporting * MIDI bank control
Additionally, Sibelius 7 has relative reverb control (a subtle effect to
make instruments seem closer or further away), and 5 degrees of Espressivo.
------INSTRUMENTS
Sibelius 6 lets you use up to 16 instruments with 1 or 2 staves each. The
choice of instruments is fixed (you can't create new ones or change old
ones).
Sibelius 7 Student lets you use 24 instruments (enough for most orchestral &
band scores), with up to 3 staves each. Sibelius 7 lets you use 128
instruments with up to 128 staves each!
Sibelius 7 and 7 Student let you define your own instruments and
modify the name etc. of the predefined ones. They also have a special menu
of brass band instruments.
Sibelius 7 and 7 Student also provide automatic numbering of players for
orchestral scores, so you can write (say) three trumpets on one or two
staves.
Sibelius 7 and 7 Student let you extract several instruments into a
single part - e.g. for making a piano-vocal score - whereas Sibelius 6 can
only extract one at a time.
------BARS AND RHYTHM
Sibelius 6 & 7 Student are limited to 512 bars in one file.
Sibelius 7 has unlimited bars, and has extra facilities for larger scores,
such as rehearsal marks beyond 'Z'.
Sibelius 7 Student & Sibelius 7 let you have any number of independent
rhythmic parts on one stave - required for much guitar and organ music.
Sibelius 6 is restricted to 2 parts (stems up & stems down), though these
can be chords with as many note as you like.
------PRINTING AND STYLE
Sibelius 7 and 7 Student can print two pages side-by-side on a sheet - and
even work out how to number the pages correctly so they're ready to fold
into a booklet of any length.
Sibelius 7 can use any page size up to 999x999mm, with any
stave size up to 20mm. Sibelius 7 Student can use A4 or A3 paper. Sibelius 6
is restricted to A4 only, with a choice of 5 stave sizes.
Sibelius 7 & 7 Student have fully editable text styles. Sibelius 6 can only
change the font. Sibelius 7 additionally can create new text styles.
Sibelius 7 Student has a complete menu of 'house style' options for
specifying variations in marking designs, slur shapes, spacings etc.
Sibelius 7 has an even bigger choice of options. Sibelius 6 lacks this menu.
Sibelius 7 (only) can use crop marks, can print scaled (e.g. for miniature
scores), and will export EPS files for transferring pages to document
processors on other computers.
------SPECIAL NOTATIONS
Sibelius 7 Student has a few special notations not found in Sibelius 6,
namely:
beams between staves for keyboard music * music without barlines * chord
symbols with super/subscripts * automatic guitar frames * guitar tab *
'tuplets' up to 15 * 160 extra miscellaneous symbols
Additionally, Sibelius 7 has:

Sibelius 7 has many ergonomic features not found in the other two programs,
