This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Risc OS 3 Tool Sprites By Various Authors This application provides a large range of tool and icon sprites for Risc OS 3 users for customising the appearance of your desktop. Tool sprites are those used for the component parts of windows, such as title bars, scroll bars, close icons and so on. Icon sprites are used for almost everything else, for example filetype sprites, hard disc icons and floppy disc icons. Run this application to open a Filer window. This contains an application called Tools, and three directories: Tools contains tool sprite files, Icons contains icon sprite files and Backdrops contains sprites for desktop backdrops. The icons can be installed using the Tools application. Double-click on the Tools application to install it on the icon bar. If you wish to install one of the tool sprites files, then first make sure that the Tools icon shows a T, and then drag the chosen file to the icon. Likewise, if you wish to install one of the icon sprites files, then the Tools icon must show an I. To toggle between T and I, simply click on the icon itself. Finally the Backdrops directory contains backdrop sprite files, for use with the Pinboard. To install a backdrop on the Pinboard, drag the sprite file onto the backdrop, click Menu over it and choose the Tiled entry from the Make backdrop submenu. The Wall sprite is for use with the medieval icons.
