This website contains an archive of files for the Acorn Electron, BBC Micro, Acorn Archimedes, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64 computers, which Dominic Ford has rescued from his private collection of floppy disks and cassettes.
Some of these files were originally commercial releases in the 1980s and 1990s, but they are now widely available online. I assume that copyright over them is no longer being asserted. If you own the copyright and would like files to be removed, please contact me.

Desktop Sample Player written by Mark Johnson
This remains PD as long as
1) The source code is not altered in any way
2) Any copies made contain all the files in the
directory
3) It is not sold for a profit.
NOTES
=====
The Main menu can be called by pressing the centre
mouse button over the !SmpPlayer icon on the icon
bar.
This gives the following menu : Info
Voices
Play
Quit
Clicking with the left mouse button on Info gives an
information screen about the program.
Clicking with the left mouse button on Voices shows
the voices available at the current moment.
Play opens up another window. This contains an area
for the Voice Name to be entered, and an Icon to
Play a test note. If you click in the Voice Name
Box, you can enter the name of the voice/sample you
want to test: This must be exactly as shown on the
'Voices' list, or an error will be reported when you
play a test note. Clicking on 'Play Test Note' will
play a test note for the voice/sample name shown in
the box above the icon.
Clicking with the left mouse button on Quit exits the
!SmpPlayer program, and removes it from the iconbar.
Module sound voices/samples can be loaded by dragging
the file icon onto the !SmpPlayer icon on the iconbar
